Job description is the product of job analysis process.A job description is usually developed by conducting a job analysis, which includes examining the tasks and sequences of tasks necessary to perform the job.

Definition

Pigors and Myres define job description as a: “pertinent picture of the organiza- tional relationships, responsibilities and specific duties that constitute a given job or position. It defines a scope of responsibility and continuing work assignment that are sufficiently different from that of other jobs to warrant a specific title”

The duties to be performed
